Period Tracker With Local Backups
A period tracker with backups you control.
Lunara lets you create backup files before clearing site data, changing browsers, or moving to another device. You decide when to make them and where to keep them.
Useful when you want privacy without giving up a practical way to protect your period history.
What you can do in Lunara
- Download a password-protected backup file after opening Lunara.
- Check a backup before using it to replace the current tracker data.
- Use readable exports when you need a simple file for your own records.
When to make a backup
Create a password-protected backup before clearing browser data, resetting Lunara, changing browsers, replacing a device, or importing entries from another tracker.
A fresh backup matters after import or restore because older files may not include the latest cycle history.
How to keep backup files safer
Use a backup password you can remember, then keep the file somewhere you control. Do not send the backup password, PIN, passphrase, or backup contents to support.
Readable CSV exports can help with personal records, but they are not a full restore backup and are not password-protected by Lunara.
Before you rely on restore
Use Recovery to verify a password-protected backup. Verification checks the file and password without replacing tracker content.
Restore always replaces the current tracker content instead of merging two histories.
FAQ
- Which backup should I use before moving devices?
- Use a password-protected backup, verify it in Recovery, and keep the password separate from the file.
- Is a CSV export the same as a full backup?
- No. CSV is readable and useful for records, but a password-protected backup is the restore-safe file for full tracker recovery.
