Lunara

Lunara helps you track your period and cycle privately. Your entries stay on this device, there is no account, no ads or tracking, and backups are files you control.

Help for setup, unlock, backups, and restore.

Use this page for install, setup, unlock, backup, and restore help. If you still need a hand, the support contact is below.

Your period dates, symptoms, notes, and cycle history stay on the device and browser you use.

There is no account, no ads or tracking, and backups are files you choose to create and keep.

Lunara is not medical, legal, or emergency guidance.

Getting started

  1. Open Lunara and create a 4 to 6 digit PIN the first time you use it.
  2. Finish setup so Lunara can start with your usual cycle pattern and any optional state information you choose to add.
  3. On later visits, enter the same PIN to open your private tracker. After setup, you can add an optional passphrase while keeping PIN unlock available.

Safety PIN help

A safety PIN is optional. It can be useful for coercion or privacy-risk situations where someone may be pressuring you to unlock the app, but many people do not need one.

If you enable it during setup, the safety PIN opens a separate empty-looking space. It does not recover the real tracker, hide real data, sync data, contact anyone, or replace emergency or legal help.

Install on your phone or computer

Lunara runs in the browser today. There is no separate store download yet, but supported browsers can install it like an app for easier repeat access.

iPhone / iPad Safari

Safari installs Lunara from the Share sheet.

  1. Open Lunara in Safari on this iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Share in Safari.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. If Add to Home Screen is hidden, tap Edit Actions and add it first.

Android Chrome / Edge

Chrome and Edge install Lunara from the browser menu.

  1. Open Lunara in Chrome or Edge on this Android device.
  2. Open the browser menu.
  3. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm the name, then open Lunara from the home screen.

Mac Safari

Safari on Mac can add Lunara to the Dock.

  1. Open Lunara in Safari on this Mac.
  2. Click Share in Safari's toolbar.
  3. Choose Add to Dock.
  4. Confirm the name, then open Lunara from the Dock.

Desktop Chrome

Chrome can install Lunara from the address bar or menu.

  1. Open Lunara in Chrome on this computer.
  2. Look near the right side of the address bar for the Install icon.
  3. If it is not visible, open Chrome's three-dot menu.
  4. Choose Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app.

Desktop Edge

Edge can install Lunara from the address bar or Apps menu.

  1. Open Lunara in Edge on this computer.
  2. Look near the right side of the address bar for the install icon.
  3. If it is not visible, open Edge's three-dot menu.
  4. Choose More tools, Apps, then Install this site as an app.

Other browsers

Lunara still works normally in a browser tab.

  1. Keep using Lunara in this browser if no install option appears.
  2. Bookmark the app or keep it pinned for easier repeat access.
  3. Before clearing site data, create a password-protected backup and keep the password.

If your browser does not show an install option, keep using Lunara in the browser normally. Your tracker data still stays in that browser on that device, and you still need to keep your own password-protected backup before clearing site data.

Backup and restore help

Use the in-app backup tools after opening Lunara to download a password-protected backup, a plain backup, or a readable export. Password-protected backup is the recommended option because it is safer if someone else finds the file.

Plain backups can still be restored, but they are not protected. Readable exports are useful for your own records, but they are not the safer choice for full recovery.

Before clearing browser website data, changing browser profiles, moving devices, or reinstalling/resetting the browser, create a password-protected backup and make sure you know its password.

To restore, choose the backup file inside Lunara, review the replacement warning, confirm that you understand the replacement, and continue. Restore replaces the current tracker data after the file passes checks.

How updates work

Lunara updates through the browser or installed shortcut. There is no app store update step for the tracker today.

Refreshing for an update may return you to the lock screen. Your saved data should remain in the same browser unless browser site data is cleared.

Before refreshing for updates, make a password-protected backup and check it in Lunara so you know the file and password work.

Common troubleshooting notes

  • Refreshing the app is expected to return you to the lock screen.
  • A different browser profile or device will not see your saved data until you restore a backup there.
  • Lunara has no sync service, analytics account, or account recovery for deleted local data.
  • Closing Lunara is fine, but clearing browser site data or website data can remove saved tracker data.
  • Repeated failed PIN attempts trigger a local delay before the next unlock try.
  • Repeated failed passphrase attempts use the same local delay. Lunara cannot recover a forgotten PIN or passphrase.

Billing help

Supporter payments are handled through Stripe-hosted Checkout. If you have a billing question, receipt issue, or duplicate-charge concern, email support and mention the email address used during checkout.

Do not send card numbers or other payment details by email. Stripe handles payment collection separately from Lunara's cycle data.

Contact support

Email support@lunaraprivacy.app for help. Include the device, browser, and the step where you got blocked, but do not send your PIN, passphrase, backup passwords, readable backup content, or card details by email.
